Martha Rhodes Carter

Martha Rhodes Carter was born July 2, 1931 in Culleoka, Tennessee to the union of Luther Rhodes and Anna Jane Nelson. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at her residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Martha was educated in the Davidson County Schools and graduated from Haynes School. She continued her education by receiving a License from Riverside Hospital Nursing School. Martha attended St. Vincent DePaul Church. She was married to Andrew Carter. This relationship was blessed with four beautiful children.

Martha was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed by several local hospitals to include Metro Bordeaux Hospital where she was blessed to retire.

In her spare time, she enjoyed walking, traveling, dancing, gardening, reading mysteries, listening to music, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Carter, parents, Luther Rhodes and Anna Jane Nelson.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted children, Jeannie Carter Utley, Michael Andrew Carter, Patricia McEwen and Carol Hornbuckle, grandchildren, Jeffrey Carter, Ricky Carter, Larhonda Whitehead, Celesia Chante Leonard, Melissa McBride, Cerissa Senters, Phillip McEwen, Jr., Ketitia Springer, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
