Mary Etta Lewis

Sister Mary Etta Lewis was born October 13, 1944, in Stanton, Tennessee to the union of John and Pearlie Shaw Lewis. She departed this sweet life on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mary accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age and was currently united with Gospel United Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in public schools and pursued higher education to become a Dental Assistant.

Mary was employed as a Dental Assistant with Meharry Dental College and The Tennessee Department of Corrections, in addition to serving 46 years as a Notary, and an Administrative Assistant for the Christian Education Department.

In her spare time Mary enjoyed shopping, eating out and fellowshipping. She mostly enjoyed her work in the Nurses ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearlie Lewis.

Those left to cherish her memories are her nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, Shirley Lewis (Curtis), Josephine Settles (Elmore), a host of loved ones and relatives in Memphis, Tn. devoted friends, Helen Goodloe, Ruby Bynum, Deacon Albert McKinnon, Mr. Shamus, and the Gospel United Church Family.
