Mary Iola Penney

Mary Iola Penney was born on February 8^th, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Mary and Walter Rucker. She entered peacefully into rest on Sunday, January 27, 2022

Mary professed a hope in Christ at an early age and later united with Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. She received her formal education in the Nashville Davidson County Public School System.

Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to William Penney, they enjoyed many years of marriage, until his passing.

Mary was employed with the Baptist Sunday School Board, until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband William Penney, parents Mary Ann and Walter Rucker, Siblings Walter, Frank, Rue Mae, Lucille, granddaughter Deborah Hughes, and grandson Ronald Tate.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories children John (Beverly) Rucker, Clarence (Debbie) Rucker, Brenda Rucker, Ronald Taylor, grandchildren John, Clarence, Charles, Tammy, Teresa, Twanna, Charles, Pruitt, Kevonda, Dion, Yolanda, Trequah, Ronkeizha, Rontezz, Charlotte, Carlton, nieces Fannie Mae, Crystal, nephews Darrell, Erick, Walter, 26 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, devoted friend Nettie Williamson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
