Monique Candace Sowell was born February 9, 1978 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Mary L. Sowell and James Sowell. She departed this life after a brief illness on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Monique accepted Christ as her personal savior and was a member of Greater Heights Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools of Davidson County where she was a graduate of Stratford High School.
Monique worked several jobs during her life which included Centennial Medical Center, Vanderbilt, Belmont, and many more. She was a hardworking woman and her dedication to her job was truly appreciated.
In her spare time, Monique enjoyed spending time with friends & family and cooking delicious meals. She loved God and was the true backbone of what her friends and family needed. Her spirit and legacy will live on and her life will be forever in the kingdom of heaven. She as preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Sowell and sister, Indra West.
These left to cherish her memories are her devoted father, James Sowell; daughters, Melaneziae Sowell, Jemossia Gooch; sons, Eric Goodner, Dawnteion Sowell; grandchildren, Jordin, Roderick, Romyya; brothers, James and Eugene Sowell; close friends, Teresa, Jamela, Kionda, Theresa, Tika, Tarsha; and a host other relatives and friends.
