Laura Beatrice Booker Seay was born on July 11, 1940 in Hohenwald, Tennessee to Elder Athon and Edna Booker. She transitioned to be with our Lord May 15, 2025. At an early age, Laura assumed her role as a God-Fearing Woman. In 1970 she embraced the love from Elder Carlton Glenn Sr., and the Glenn Tabernacle United Primitive Baptist Church Family. She was a dedicated servant until her departure to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mother Laura Seay served on the Mother Board, the Hospitality Committee and made joyful noises singing in the Senior Choir.
Mother Laura Seay was educated in the Lewis County School Systems where she attended the Historic Hohenwald Colored School and Haynes High School in Nashville, TN.
In 1978 she married John Wayne Seay and from this union one child was born John Thomas Seay.
Mother Laura Seay was employed at Bar-B-Cutie, the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Nashville and was employed by several Nursing Homes. She was a Loving Foster Parent to 4 brothers who adored her. They were Morgan, Alastarr, Chase and Evers Miller. Laura was caring, supportive and was a very inspirational force in their lives. She acted without hesitation. She embraced them into her and always provided enjoyment in all our lives.
Laura enjoyed being with her family and friends. She made unforgettable memories. Laura loved the family and friends gathering where beautiful memories were always made.
Laura enjoyed word search puzzles, sewing, cooking, traveling, and volunteering for Metro Public Schools. Laura loved volunteering with her son John, who enjoyed helping with his non-profit organization L&K. While volunteering with her son John, she truly enjoyed distributing Christmas Food boxes to families that were in need.
Mother Laura Beatrice Booker Seay is preceded in death by her parents, Elder Athon and Edna Booker, daughters, Karen (Willie) Harris, Laura (Glenn) Ferrell, Sr., siblings; Ocie (Earl) Beverly and Martha Vaughn, Joyce Tibbs, and Nathaniel (Bertha) Roberson, Sr., Mildred (Leon) Morton, Frank Russell and Elder Richard Russell.
Those left to cherish her loving and beautiful memories, to always remain in the hearts of her children; (2) sons; James (Glenda) Harris, John (Stephanie) Seay, (1) Brother; Johnny (Margaret) Booker; Grandchildren, Jabari Armstrong, Glenn(Cindy) Ferrall, Jr., Johnecia Seay, Lakeysha Ferrell, Amelia Harris, Courtney Pugh, Addison Wade, Tanner Seay, Carrington Seay, Chitika Womack, Andre Harris, Malayiah Seay, Willie Harris, Jr.; Derrick Harris, and James Harris; brothers; Elder B.L. (Paulette) Russell, Sr., Joe Russell, Jessie (Amanda) Russell, Randy Russell, Elder Ronnie (Rochelle) Russell; Sister; Mother Annie (William deceased), and Elder Richard deceased (Betty) Russell; (18) Great-Grandchildren; (2) Great-Great Grand children; Special Friends; Mother Willie Mae Glenn, Deacon Daniel & Mother Pat Bender, Terry and Linda Esmond, Selena Wright, The Miller and Templeton Families, Shameca Holt, Precious Wagner, Shaketa Warfield, The Advanced Healthcare of Nashville, and Villa Maria Manor.
