Nellise Scott

Mrs. Nellise T. Scott, wife of the late Robert A Scott, departed this life, Sunday, August 9, 2026.

She was a native of Grand Junction, Tennessee. Born July 26, 1933, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Tomlinson. She was a long resident of 2238 Vollentine Ave, Memphis, Tn. She was also long resident of John Glenn Senior Resident of 2801 Ed Temple Blvd, Nashville, Tn. In recent years she resided at the Riverview Post Acute Nursing Home, 111 Pemberton Dr, Ashland City, Tn.

As a faithful member she served well in Apostolic Overcoming Holy Church of God in the following capacities: member, usher and church mother. She rendered service until moving to Nashville at Sardis A.O.H. Church, Sardis, Mississippi. Upon moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2005 she became an active member of the Temple Church as a Deaconess. But was fondly called Mother Scott by her Pastor Darrell Drumwright.

Her favorite hobbies were sewing, singing, and cooking. Her favorite songs: “Surely I Will”, “Praise the Lord Everybody” and “Glorify the Name of the Lord”. Her favorite colors: purple, blue and white.

She leaves to mourn her one son, Charles A Scott. Sr. and her one daughter-in-law, Delores Scott. Three grandchildren: Gary L Rodgers Sr (Christian), Phoenix, AZ.; Charles A Scott, Jr and Sean M Scott (LaToya), Nashville, TN. Seven great grandchildren: Linda (Derreco) Lewis, Nashville, TN; Jerrinikia Woods, Memphis, TN; Gary L Rodgers, Jr., Tampa, Fl; NyAsia Scott, Nashville, TN; Londyn Scott, Lewisburg, TN; Darraill Peake and D’Mari Scott, Nashville, TN. Four great great grandchildren. Some of the most wonderful nieces Bernice Thomas, Lois Askew,Memphis, Tn; Rosie (Melvin) McCray, Atlanta, Ga and Barbara Williams, Memphis, TN.. She helped raise her great niece Romanita Thompson Berry and a great great nephew Steve A Watkins, whom she loved like her own child. And a bonus son Arturo Scott, Nashville, Tn and granddaughter-in-law LaTonya Rodgers, Tampa, Fl.
