Richard Edward Frazer

December 4, 1975 — August 3, 2024

Richard Edward Frazer is known as "Swole" by his closest friends. He is known as Richard by his family. His mother (Vivian) and his aunt (Christy) referred to him as King Richard because Richard was named after a King. However, the most important name he loved to be called was "Daddy” because 3-year-old Alani Moore-Frazer was the love of his life and always will be.

Richard was born on December 4th, 1975, in Nashville, TN, to Vivian L. Woodard (Frazer) and Harold Frazer Sr. Soon after, he had a brother, Harold Frazer Jr., Who is affectionately called "Red" because Richard and Red were easier to say. Later, his brother Chad R. Driver was born. The three amigos. From a young boy, Richard and his brothers loved to fish. He would spend hours at Shelby Park fishing in the summer, a pastime he practiced well into adulthood. Richard also enjoyed playing cards, using strategies when playing chess, and sometimes commanding the board in dominoes. He also enjoyed a good bar-b-que and spending time at his Uncle Terence's home with his Aunt Donna and Cousin Mitchell.

Richard attended Metro Nashville Public Schools but graduated from the school of hard knocks. However, he received his high school diploma, which was a proud day. Richard then went on to pursue a career as an electrician. He attended the Nashville Electrician Apprentice Program and recently joined the IBEW Local 429, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.

However, if you asked him about his greatest accomplishment, he would say Alani. He often spoke about how she was the light of his life, and his love for her was unparalleled. During this short time, Richard was a dutiful, caring, and loving father to Alani. She was always with her Daddy, a bond that will never be broken.

Under the hard exterior, Richard was a very loving and sensitive soul to those he loved most dear. His mother, Vivian, was one of those people, including his father, Harold, and his brothers, Red and Chad. Richard's closest friends describe him as a loyal, trustworthy, dependable friend who was always ready to educate, give advice, or intellectually philosophize on various topics. But if you were not in his good graces, "You can kick rocks," as he would say.

If you know Richard, you know he was “one of a kind”. With his infectious laugh and relaxed, laid-back demeanor, he was a force to be reckoned with. He had no issues letting you know what was on his mind, always honest and straightforward. Richard lived his life on his own terms, and regardless of whether you called him Richard, King Richard, Swole, or Daddy, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family, friends, and especially Alani meant the world to him. He was taken from us too soon, and he will be truly missed.
