Ricky Everett Morehead, of Old Hickory/Mt Juliet, TN, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Born on August 24, 1957 in Nashville, TN, he was the eldest son of the late Everett and Marjorie (Helen) Morehead. He is survived by a devoted wife, Patricia Harris-Morehead of 44 years matrimony; a loving daughter, Tiffany M. Johnson (Antonio) of Sacramento, CA; two talented and beautiful grandchildren, Kelsey and Anthony Johnson of Sacramento, CA; a caring sister, Bonita M. Blair; a loving niece, Shada B. Pollard (Tony), and a host of dear relatives and friends. Ricky's younger brother, Donald (Felisa) of Phoenix, AZ preceded him in death.
Ricky found the Lord at a young age as a member of Hydes Ferry Road Church of Christ, profoundly shaping his faith in life. He received his formal education in the Metro Nashville Public School System.
After graduating Hume-Fogg High School, he attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN where he pursued degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science. He also was very involved in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and other campus activities; some might say too involved.
As a young adult, husband and father, his career spanned various roles, including Assistant Manager at the old Kay Jewelers in downtown Nashville, a Shelby County Sherriff's Correctional Officer in Memphis, TN, an Assistant Director at Matthew 25 in Nashville. As a retired senior citizen, he took on part-time work at the Nashville airport, Uber and Lyft until health issues took their toll on his body. He was a man with an incredible work ethic, a great sense of humor, and a tremendous love for his family. He will be missed.
