Robert “Bob” Bracey was born to the late Freeland and Mary Bracey on October 25, 1943 in Eagleville, Tennessee. Robert peacefully fell asleep May 3, 2024, from all pain and trouble. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Freeland and Mary Bracey and siblings Johnny, William “Jr”, Sterling (Mary), Annie Pearl, William “Bill” (Addie), Rodger, Louida, and Jessie.
He was educated at Cedar Grove and Holloway High School. He served his country and traveled the world in the Army where he studied electrical engineering. He was employed at Author Buchanan, AVCO repairing airplanes, and retired from L & N Railroads after 30 years as an electrician. He loved fishing, sports, gardening, automobiles and was an avid inventor and engineer.
Bob took Christ as his Savior at Gospel United Missionary Baptist Church where he was an esteemed member of the Deacon Board.
Bob was very fond of family and had strong relationships with them. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dorothy Jean Bracey; sons: Ren Bracey, Phil Bracey (Lashonda) and William Stevenson; daughters: Marisa Easley (Keecal), Shakeydra Newby and Theresa Jordan (Alex); siblings: Tom Bracey (Nola), Erma Bracey, Eleanor Barbour; devoted cousins: Vernelia Johnson and Teresa Woods; grandchildren: DaMarco, Koron, Aniyah, Miracle, Renissa, Shantonia, Brayden, Ashanti, Braxton, Camren, Amar’e; great-grandchildren: Legend and True. He also leaves a host of devoted nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be missed greatly but remembered fondly.
