Robert McKissack

Mr. Robert McKissack, Jr. was born September 29, 1939, in Franklin, Tennessee. to the union of Robert McKissack, Sr., and Marie Watson McKissack. He answered call and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Robert was baptized at Ramsey Street Church of Christ. He was educated in the Williamson County Schools and continued his education by attending and graduating from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology.

Robert was married to the love of his life Robbie Phillips McKissack. The two of them enjoyed love to the fullest.

Robert enlisted in the United States Armed Forces branch of the Army. He served his term and was honorably discharged.

Robert was employed as a Supervisor at Richland Village Children’s Home as well as Tyson and several other odd jobs.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and attending football games. Robert will be missed immensely.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Robbie MicKissack.

Those left to cherish his memories are children, Sandy Marie McKissack, Gregory Grissette, Shelia Grissette, Kevin McKissack, Cecil Grissette, grandchildren, Felitha Grissette, Dia Baker, Bobby Taylor, Antwane Taylor, Traci Grissette, Sheri Grissette, Lekeda Taylor, Kenya Taylor, daughter-in-law, Denise Grissette, siblings, Grace McKissack, Viginia Hendricks, Patricia Hodge, Beverly Booker and Mary Louise Booker, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
