Robert Lee Nelson "Bobby"

Robert Lee Nelson was born on March 22, 1957 to the parents of Mable Aline McAdoo Nelson and Charlie Nelson Jr. in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He departed this earthly life on July 18, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Annell (James) Howse, Janice Nelson; and Virginia ‘Pee Wee” Nelson.

Robert professed a belief in Christ at an early age and united with Emory United Methodist Church. He attended the Rutherford County Public School system. He married his wife of 43 years, Rockie Blackman Nelson in 1978.
Robert was employed in construction and mechanics for the duration of his life. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, watching old westerns, and spending quality time with family and friends. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Bobby”. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted children, Damien Sibles, Roshawnda “Junebug” Nelson, Robert (BJ) Nelson; wife, Rockie Nelson; brother, Charles Nelson “Suntail”; sisters, Anna Mae Gregory, Helen “Coo Coo” Hutchenson; grandchildren, Shacoria Nelson, Rosheeda Riley, Malcolm, Javion, Tyree, Ro’Siah; devoted cousin, Deborah Ann Bingham; devoted friends, Sheron Carruthers, Carmack Odom; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Vieiwng Tuesday, August 3, 2021, 12-6, visitation Wednesday Aug. 4, 2021, 11-12 with funeral to follow at funeral home. Burial in Middle Tn. State Veterans Cemetery
