Ronald Bernard Thomas was born on October 23, 1961, in Flushing, New York, to the proud parents of John and Grace Thomas.
Ronald received his education in the New York City Public School System.
Upon graduating high school, he joined the US Navy. After his Navy enlistment, he joined and became an officer in the N.Y.P.D. He retired from the 109th precinct. After retirement, he upped his efforts in pursuing his PHD in psychology.
Ronald went by the name of Ron. He loved his cigars, upbeat music, and the JETS football team. He also had a love for golf and bowling. He loved to travel and sample different cuisines.
His love for Christmas was his HAPPY TIME. He loved the Christmas parade every year and decorating his tree. He had to have a huge number of presents under his tree.
During his battle with Cancer, he showed great inner strength and fortitude. He accepted whatever obstacle was placed before him. He often told his sister, “I am going to beat this”. His beautiful mother was his biggest cheerleader during his battle. Traveling from Nashville, Tennessee, to New York for four months to support his efforts. He often took assistance and support from his friends helping him through his battle. He appreciated and loved the care he received from his doctors’ and nurses at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
All had t appreciate the fact that when you asked Ronald anything, he spoke his mind. He often said, “If you don’t want to know, don’t ask me”.
Ronald is survived by his loving parents, father, John Thomas , New York, and mother, Grace L. Thomas, Nashville, Tennessee, his only sister, Jacqueline A. Thomas, Nashville, Tennessee and brother Brian Winsley, New York, his three daughters, Melissa Thomas, Las Vegas, Autumn Thomas, New York, and Kayla Chang-Jerome, New York, his nieces, Sharaea Lamb, Nashville, Tennessee, Danielle Lamb, Nashville, Tennessee and nephew-Isaiah Montgomery, Nashville, Tennessee, A host of cousins, friends and the NYPD family (109th precinct Strong!!)
