Sharon Denise Benford-Collier was given her heavenly wings on
April 23, 2023. She was the oldest of six children, born October 16, 1966,
to Eliza Benford. She was educated in the Davidson County School
System, graduating from East Nashville Senior High School.
She moved to Kansas City, Kansas in the early 1990's. Sharon was
known for her smiling face and kind demeanor. She also loved singing
and dancing, playing dominoes, and watching cooking shows on
television. Watching the cooking shows was evidenced by her marvelous
meals and her hospitality in sharing those meals with family and friends.
She attended Bethlehem United Primitive Baptist Church as a
child and united with the Bethlehem Family as a young adult. While in
Kanas City, she attended "I CAN" Ministries under the leadership of
Bishop Michael McIntosh.
Sharon was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Mother
Vinia Foster; grandfather, James Foster; and brother, Calvin Branch.
Left to cherish her memories are mother: Eliza Benford; two brothers:
Victor Benford and Alvin Branch; two sisters: Laquita (Dee Dee)
Branch and Candace Cole; god-children: Adyan, Aliya, Brock, Dokie,
Fats, and Rasuul; significant other: Jacob; devoted niece, Asya Collier
and a host of nieces, nephews. cousins and devoted friends in Kansas
City; aunts: Dorothea (Billy) Foster; uncle: Jewell Lee; great uncle:
Morris (Lisa) Griffin; great aunt: Sarah Griffin; devoted friend: Vickie
