Shavonzia Bright

Shavonzia Bright was born on January 8, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Ethel White and Howard Knight. She peacefully departed this life on July 17, 2025.

At a young age, Shavonzia accepted Christ and became a member of Bass Street Baptist Church. She received her education in the Metro-Nashville Public School system.

Shavonzia dedicated many years to her work as a laborer and will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She enjoyed singing with the Johnson Ensemble.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Lucille and Hugo Dowlin; parents; Ethel White and Howard Knight brother, Carl White; sister, Laquitta Knight. 

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Mashelle Tate; grandson, Angelo (Rachel) Tate; sisters, Lorean Pointer, Janet Lewis, Elizabeth Jones, Victoria Crum; nieces and nephews, Angela Benford, Samantha Williams, Tony Lewis, Montez Lewis, Felton Jones, Yasmine Brown, Carl White, Jr., Carlos White, long time friend Brenda Liggett and family and a host of other family relatives and friends.
