Shereca Waters

Sharika Michelle Waters was born on March 8, 1975, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the union of Thomas Waters and Linda Waters. She departed this life on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Sharika received her education through the Nashville Metropolitan Public School System. From an early age, she accepted Christ into her life and remained steadfast in her Christian faith.

Sharika was known for her vibrant spirit. She enjoyed being self-employed. She brought joy to those around her with her infectious laughter, sense of humor, and love for dancing. A true fashion enthusiast, Sharika delighted in expressing herself through her ever-changing shoes and wigs, often making multiple changes in a single day. She cherished the simple pleasures of life and always found reasons to smile and uplift those around her.

She was preceded in death by Martha Waters, Chandel Jim Leach, Linda Waters Maskill, Gene Waters, Mitchell Steel, and several other aunts and uncles.

Those left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory include her brothers, Alfonso Waters and Michael Steele; sisters, Veronica, Marchello, Lakeisha Steele, and Chanel Waters; her beloved daughter, Tasia Crowell, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Sharika's joyful spirit, unwavering faith, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
