Sheryl began her earthly journey on February 19, 1959. She was the only child born to her parents, Reverend James Glenn, and Mary Chambers Glenn. Her parents and son Paul preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and united with Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of God In Christ. Which in later became Cathedral of Praise Church of God In Christ where she faithfully served.
Sheryl received her education in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System and was a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School. She furthered her education by attending Aquinas College. She enjoyed her employment with the State of Tennessee, Department of Homeland Security.
On January 11, 1997, Sheryl married the love of her life, Douglas Washington. Sheryl loved spending time with her family and friends. She always enjoyed the family reunions and Christmas dinners. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence and beautiful smile. I remember my mother as a gentle, patient, and loving mother who encouraged me to pursue my goals, fight for my life, laugh despite my trials, and love people. She also undergirded me in the love of Christ and all His benefits.
On Monday April 17, 2024, at her home with her husband at her side. Sheryl answered God’s beckoning call to cease from her earthly labor and entered the Master’s Joy
She leaves to cherish precious memories her loving husband and best friend, Douglas; her daughter Nefertitti Washington, Houston, TX; her grandsons Rashad (Shaneve) Jones of Houston, Texas and Paul Edward Jones IV of Houston Texas, great-granddaughters, Neveah Ra’Shyy and April Dinise and a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers.
