Shubrina Renee Payne

Shubrina Renee Payne was born on June 29, 1973, in Davidson County in Nashville, Tennessee to Wilford Buchanan and Marilyn Cartmell. She departed this life on March 11, 2023. She received her primary education in the Davidson County School District.

Shubrina was a strong and loving woman. She accepted Jesus Christ, early in life, as her Lord and Savior at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her family beyond measure! She was an awesome cook! She made sure all her family and friends were taken care of. She should have opened a restaurant because she sold plates as though she had one. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life and she loved and cared for them dearly.

Shubrina was preceded in death by her father, Wilford Buchanan.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted mother, Marilyn Cartmell; one son, William (Quan) Oden, Jr.; one
daughter, Aundrenetta “Angie” (Antwan) Cartmell; one stepdaughter, Temra Turner; nine grandchildren: William Oden, III, William Cartmell, Marquise Cartmell, Dajuan Cartmell, Antionette Goldthreate, King Goldthreate, Joshua Cartmell, Jayliyah Oden and Miracle Oden; brothers: Richard (Lady) Cartmell, Sr., Brandon Martin, Michael Buchanan and Lamar “Pooty” Carter, Sr.; sister: Cenitres Carter; devoted partner Randy Wade and devoted friend Sharon Whitlow and her family. Also, devoted grandmother, Mary E. Walker, uncle: Thomas (Pam) Cartmell, aunts: Sandra Walker, Brenda Walker, Carol Robinson, Janice (Marcus) Jordan and Francia (Robert) Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
