Stephen Keith Long

Steve was born on April 6, 1959, in Goldsboro, N.C. to parents Andrew, Sr. and Mattie Long.  He moved to New Haven, Ct. with the rest of the family when his parent’s got jobs with the Department of Education there.  He graduated from Hillhouse High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years as a Sargent of Material Facilities overseas in Korea.

After his military service, he moved to Nashville, Tn. and worked at Comdata Corporation in Brentwood, Tn. and several BBQ restaurants in Nashville as their main chef. 

He enjoyed sports, especially professional basketball, fishing, camping, reading, and listening to music, especially jazz.

He went home to be with his Heavenly Father on May 7, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his father Andrew, Sr., his mother Mattie Hatcher, and his brother Robert Mark

He leaves behind his brother Andrew, Jr. (Lesa), Benton, Ky., Uncle John (Pat) Long, Chicago, Il., an Aunt, Eloise (Long) Middleton, Branford, Ct. Several nephews and nieces and many more cousins and friends.
