Susie Mae Martin

Susie Mae Martin was born on June26, 1953 in Cadiz, Kentucky to the late Johnnie C. Baker and Levi Rogers Baker. She departed this life on Friday, January 5^th, 2024.

Susie accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mayes Chapel CME Church. She later moved her membership to Bloomfield Baptist Church. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee she later joined Immanuel Baptist Church.

Susie received her formal education in the Trigg County Public School Systems, graduating from Trigg County High School, class of 1971.

After moving to Nashville, Tennessee, Susie worked for several years at Hoarse Small Manufacturing where she later retired after 25 years. She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She enjoyed fixing sweets for her family and the nieces and nephews, she especially liked spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Susie enjoyed the soap operas and the court shows. Taking pictures was one of her favorite past times. She will truly be missed.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Levi baker, husband Price Martin, and grandson, Jerll Williams, brothers, Alvin Baker, J.C. Baker, Norris C. Baker, Johnny J. Baker, Robert D. Baker, and sisters, Mozella Baker, and Sarah Hattie Brison.

She leaves to cherish her memories devoted son, Mozell (Aretha) Martin, grandchildren, Shawn Martin, Amaria Martin, Montez Martin, all of Nashville, Tennessee, great-grandchild, Zion Williams, brothers, Tommie (Georgette) Baker of East Chicago, Indiana; Jimmie L. (Marsha) Baker of Nashville, TN., sisters, Catherine (Jimmy) Zellner of Hopkinsville, KY., Emma (Joseph) Webb of Nashville, TN., Rotressa (Earnest) Yelling of Goodlettsville, TN., aunt, Mrs. Martha Waddington of Nashville, TN., a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and classmates.
