Ms. Sylvia Jean Lawson was born November 4, 1953, to the late Major and Elizabeth Potter of Pulaski, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy, Charles, Carl and James Potter, four sisters, Elizabeth Muse, Lucille Terrell, Everlena and Mary Potter.
Sylvia confessed a hope in Christ and accepted Him as he Lord and Savior at an early age. As she matured, she became a member of Greater Love Kingdom Building Church under the Pastorship of Anthony Waggoner.
She received her education in the Nashville Davidson County Public Schools.
After a long and courageous struggle with a serious illness her life ended peacefully on Wednesday January 29, 2025, at Alive Hospice surrounded by her daughter and other family members by her side.
Her precious memories will always be cherished by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her passing the following three loving daughters, Sylvia Potter, Tonya Lawson and Sonya McAdoo, eight grandchildren, Melvin, Lamaro, Lavaris and Keynosha Comer. Javaris, Terrance, Terrika Lawson, Stevie (Sceleste) McAdoo, seventeen, great-grandchildren, devoted grandchildren, Melvin and Keynosha Comer and Javaris Lawson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. devoted friends, Constance Turner, Melanie Kilpatrick and Carl Pullens and family.
