With hearts filled with love and cherished memories, we cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Venus Margaret Smith, who entered this world on May 30, 1982, and peacefully departed this life on May 29, 2026.
Venus was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering faith. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior through the Baptist Church, where she began a lifelong journey of faith that would guide her throughout her life. Her love for God was reflected in the kindness she showed to others and the compassion she carried in her heart.
Venus attended McGavock High School, where she excelled academically and participated in honors classes. She possessed a passion for learning and a determination that inspired those around her.
Music was one of Venus’s greatest joys. Blessed with creativity and talent, she spent much of her life singing and serving as a producer for many artists, helping others pursue their dreams while sharing her own love for music. She especially enjoyed listening to the music of Aaliyah, whose artistry brought her comfort and inspiration.
Beyond her many talents, Venus founded her greatest happiness in spending time with her family. She treasured every moment shared with loved ones, whether gathering for celebrations, sharing laughter, or preparing meals for those she cared about. Cooking was one of her favorite pastimes, and she delighted in bringing family and friends together around the table.
Venus was preceded in death by her loving father, David Ewin.
She leaves to cherish her memory of her beloved mother, Theresa Smith; her loving children, Omarion Smith, Darion Smith, and Aaliyah Smith; her devoted sisters, Catrice, Gloria, Markesha, and Ericka, her devoted brothers, Jody and David, Jr. ,and devoted cousin, Castillius Jenkins and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who lives were forever touched by her love, kindness, and generosity.
