Verline Elizabeth Smith-Young

Verline Elizabeth Young was born on January 7, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee to Gladys Haley. She entered peacefully into rest on Monday, January 29, 2024 at the AHC Cumberland in Nashville, Tennessee.

 Verline was educated in Davidson County Nashville Public Schools. She was employed as a supervisor with Metro Government, and she retired from Metro Schools after 30 years.

 Verline gave her life being a supporting mother, grandmother, aunt and community advocate. She was given the lifetime membership award from the Order of the Eastern Star for her many years of service.

 She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Darien Young, 3 grandchildren, MaDonna (Young) Stewart, Jesse Young and Lee Young, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, niece, Deloris Wilkes, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
 
She loved and she was loved.
