Vicki Lynn Hayes

May 31, 1964 — February 4, 2022

Vicki Lynn Hayes transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, February 4, 2022. Vicki is preceded in death by her father, Saul Clifton Hayes, her only child, Maurice Deshawn Hayes, brothers, Bobby Hayes, Howard Hayes, and Rodney Hayes.

She is survived by her devoted mother, Jean Phillips Hayes; brother Ronald B. (Lyn) Hayes; sisters-in-law, Effie Tibbs Hayes, and Cynthia Hayes, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Vicki persevered through her illness with dogged determination to care for her mother. Following the death of her son, Maurice (Baby "O" or "Pooh"), her mother became her life. As a term of endearment, Vicki referred to her mother as "Lucy" as she dispensed medicine, served meals, and performed other duties as her mother's caretaker.

Vicki loved her family. She loved planning events for family and friends. Vicki was a master at directing and arranging family gatherings, including movie nights, birthdays, and holidays. These occasions were ways to gather her family together at her house, your house, or a restaurant to create unforgettable memories.

Her family equally loved Vicki. On her many trips to medical appointments, her brother Ronald was her companion, holding her hand, encouraging her through the many difficult procedures and treatments. The entire family will celebrate her and remember fondly all the laughter and good times she created. Her family will truly miss her.

Vicki Lynn Hayes fought a good fight; she finished her course and kept the faith. During her journey, she decided to accept Christ in her life. Vicki united with Hicks Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Nashville, Tn, and was baptized by her Pastor, Reverend Jerry Holt.   The family is grateful for this journey.

Visitation Friday, February 11, 2022, 12-1:00pm with funeral to follow at Hicks Tabernacle 1515 Sweetbriar.
