Willie Lewis Perry was born on March 24, 1960, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late John A. Perry, Sr. and Elver Ligon Perry. On September 1, 2025, he peacefully entered eternal rest at Skyline Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
At an early age, Willie accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Mt. Ararat Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Julius R. Scruggs. Following his family’s move to another part of Nashville, he became a member of Faith United Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. J. Lewis Powell.
Willie was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools and graduated from Maplewood High School. After graduation, he began working in the food service industry before later serving as a Mental Health Associate at Parthenon Pavilion, where he dedicated many years of care and commitment.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Jennie Mai Moore Maynard and Rosie Grayson; his grandfathers, Peter Ligon and Willie L. Perry; and his step-grandfather, Joseph Maynard.
Willie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted brother, Reverend John A. (Romona) Perry, Jr.; his loving and devoted niece, Kimberly (Malcohm) Hagwood; great-nephews, Anthony Lewis, Cameron Waller, and Ethan Waller; his devoted cousin, Neely Harper; along with a host of cousins and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
